Since beginning his own label in 2008, Todd Snyder has defined himself by the refined. The Iowa native spent time working at J.Crew before making the timely decision to step away independently and has not looked back, having been able to reach new heights. With the current Todd Snyder Spring/Summer 2012 collection one to really appreciate, I caught up with Snyder to talk about all things past, present, future.

13/04/2012The incredible Sharmadean Reid launched her new book 'The WAH Nails Book of Nail Art' at The WAH club at the W London hotel this week. Sharmadean opened the first of her famed WAH Nails salons in London in 2009, then a dedicated salon in Topshop's Oxford Circus flagship store and has been growing her dedicated fanbase ever since. The who's who of Londons creative community have been going to WAH since it opened and celebrities like Alice Dellal, M.I.A, Cassette Playa's Carri Munden and Louise Gray have become obsessed.

Hiroshi Fujiwara | Interview
To describe Hiroshi Fujiwara as an influence is a huge understatement. Often referred to as the 'Godfather of Harajuku', Fujiwara has been the backbone to a movement that goes much further than a small suburb in Tokyo. Having experienced culture in London and New York most notably, as a teenager Fujiwara got introduced to the some of the most powerful names around that have inspired the new generation. I sat down with Fujiwara recently to talk about how it all began and how he has seen the Harajuku movement evolve over the years.

Effortless Luxury
Croatian born Damir Doma grew up in Germany, then studied fashion in Munich and Berlin before getting the best education possible by working at Dirk Schoenberger and Raf Simons. It was his time in Antwerp where Damir learnt to apply himself in a way that combines creativity with a strong work ethic. Further progressing Damir launched his own label in 2006, and within a year Damir was showing in Paris, considered the pinnacle location to present a collection.

"Balancing a nostalgic historical sense with radical modernism", Kris Van Assche is a designer who represents the modern era with a defining aesthetic of nonchalant elegance. The Belgian born designer has seen his abilities grow and grow since starting his own label in 2005, culminating in him being appointed artistic director for Dior Homme in 2007. Impelled by a vision of the man who takes the time to "dress up", Kris Van Assche has embarked on an esthetic quest, pursuing a new masculinity infused with poetry and authenticity.

Micah Cohen at only 30 years old has made a name for himself and his brand Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen, through his mission to produce wearable and accessible clothing while comprimising none of the contemporary aesthetic and attitude - in the brand's own words "blurring the line between fashion forward and traditional." The result has become hugely popular not only in the United States but around the world, with Cohen continuing to upset the global fashion market with his refreshing attitude towards both design and business.
